Stratesave Disaster Recovery and OpenFile Option
Disaster Recovery

If your system crashes, you want your data back right away. That is why you want to have disaster recovery to keep downtime to a minimum. All you have to do is to create a ASR Restore Floppy disk and a full backup to a tape device. If you PC dies, you can boot from the disaster recovery disks and have your PC up and running in a short time.

  • Bases on Automated System Recovery built in Windows XP.

  • Eliminate the need to first reload the entire operating system after a system crash.

  • Supported for Windows XP Professional local backups.

  • Disaster Recovery for Windows Server 2003 and for Network Backup is planned for next version of Stratesave.

Open File Backup

Open File Backup uses Microsoft Volume Snapshot Service (VSS) built in Windows XP. At start of backup, a Snapshot is taken of all local disks to be backed up. The Snapshot is then backed up. This has the advantage, that the state of all backed up files is taken at the same time. Stratesave also backs up the System State "VSS-aware", following the VSS guidelines. System State backup on Windows XP requires VSS Open File Backupe enabled.

  • Support Windows XP local backups and is seamlessly integrated into Stratesave Standard.

  • Open File Backup for Windows Server 2003 and for Network Backup is planned for next version of Stratesave.
